Late Registration For Harmattan Semester Finally Activated

Late Registration For Harmattan Semester Finally Activated

The Late Registration of Students has finally been activated. It will be remembered that the Late Registration which was earlier scheduled to start on July 18 following the closure of the Normal Registration was 'graciously' extended till July 26. In a message posted on the school website then, the Vice Chancellor took that decision to allow for many students that are yet to pay the school fees.

Normally, Late Registration lasts two weeks and there is always a penalty of N2500 for those that do not meet up with the Normal Registration deadline but rumour yet to be confirmed has it that the Penalty fee may be increased to N7000 this time around. This is said to be an attempt to nail students who are thought by the Management to have deliberately refused to pay the newly increased school fees.

However, the Students' Union leadership is yet to react to the kick off of the Late Registration as at the time of filling this report. If the last decision of the Students' Union leadership still stands, this means students are still expected not to pay the increased fees.

Our interaction with many loyalists to the struggle against the school fees increment label the Late Registration kick-off as an attempt to deceive students to pay the increased fees. They argued the school is not on session, hence, Normal Registration cannot end. On the other hand, many students that have paid plead with those that have not to go and pay so that the academic activities can resume on Campus. as the struggle against it continues.

Also on the school portal page is the information for those having difficulty in filling the Lecturers' Assessment:

'LECTURERS ASSESSMENT/E-Mail ACTIVATION CHALLENGES

If you are faced with any of the challenges, please follow the instructions given by the E-Portal. Students who have paid but still having challenges with Lecturers Assessment Form or E-Mail Activation will be excepted from the late Registration.''
