OAU Denies Recruitment Processes

The management of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, has debunked a conversation online about an alleged staff recruitment exercise going on in the university.

The university revealed it is not currently recruiting any staff at the moment.

This was disclosed in a statement titled “BEWARE OF SCAMMERS: OAU IS NOT RECRUITING”, released by the University spokesperson, Abiodun Olanrewaju, on Sunday, and made available to OAUPeeps News Agency.

The attention of the management of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, has been drawn to a conversation online about an alleged staff recruitment exercise currently going on in the University. The said conversation is not only false but devilish, malicious and a pure scam.

We, therefore, want the general public, most especially those desperately in need of employment, to know that Obafemi Awolowo University is NOT on any staff recruitment exercise for now.

A release by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju, stated that OAU, as an academic institution, does not engage in secret or clandestine employment, neither would it's Vice Chancellor or any other Principal Officers of the University ask an applicant for any monetary or material gratification.

In fact, our staff recruitment exercise always follows due process : we place vacancies advertisement in two widely read National Dailies and the same will be displayed on the University website. Please, also note that we do not engage the services of an outsider for our staff recruitment exercise.

In view of this, the general public should disregard, in its entirety, the contents of the conversation, and that OAU does not advert it's staff recruitment exercise on the social media.

The University does not know nor have any relationship whatsoever with any nebulous Dr. Williams Abah. Therefore, anything done or purportedly done on behalf of the University or its Vice Chancellor by the so called Dr. Williams Abah, with GSM number 0802 129 4368, has nothing to do with the University.

Any person or group of persons who transacts, or has transacted any business with him in the name of the University does so at their own risk.

Agitations At Fajuyi Hall As Man O War Member Beat Student For Passing Excreta At Their Base

By Ayomide Emmanuel

Fajuyi hall of residence members were agitating that the law must take its due core on the member of Man O War for beating a student who was caught passing excreta at their base.

OAUPeeps News Agency Correspondent gathered that a student was caught by the Man O War Official for passing excreta at the Man O War base which has the inscription "Military Zone Keep Off" According to report gathered, the student caught in the act was told to pack his faeces who in turn told the officials that he dug the ground and has already covered it with sand.

The culprit according to his report while the case was been moderated at Fajuyi hall Secretariat, pleaded that they allow him to leave the excreta that way while he follow them to administer any punishment they want to him.

However, one of the Man O War official present started administering cane on him. An eye witness who saw the event while he was standing at the backyard of the first floor of Block 4 Fajuyi hall called the attention of Fajuyians to the case.

Consequently, when the student and the Man O War Officials came out of their base with his excreta which he eventually packed after much pressure from the officials, Fajuyians intervened and prevented them from taking him to their(Man O War) Secretariat.

While moderating the case at Fajuyi Hall Secretariat, a porter from the Fajuyi Hall Of Residence came and intervened and corrected the Man O War Officials that it's not in their place to lay hands on Students regardless of the offense.

The porter however concluded that the case will be settle tommorow Tuesday, 14th March 2023 as both parties involved will be called.
