University Of Ibadan Calls 'PTA' Meeting Over Closure

The Nigeria's first University, the University of Ibadan has invited parents of students to a meeting where the circumstances surrounding the current closure of the school will be discussed in view of resolving them.

Following the recent development that led to students being advised to vacate the campus, the Management, Senate and Council of the University of Ibadan, have at various levels been deliberating on ways to address this problem with a view to finding lasting solution and ensuring resumption as soon as possible.

Parents and other stakeholders in the UI project are cordially invited to this forum scheduled as follows:

Ife Shuttle Bus Drivers (Town-Igboro) Release New Bus Fare Scheme




The shuttle bus drivers in Ile-Ife town on Friday 27th May, 2016 released new bus fares scheme. The new fares, which is a slight increase to the current fares, has become effective with immediate effect. It would be recalled that the shuttle bus drivers in Ife on Friday 27th May, 2016 withdrew their services throughout the town for a whole day in order to meet and discuss the new fare structure. The upward review of fares has been attributed to the recent increase in the pump price of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Diesel.

The new bus fares scheme is as follows:
-Alakowe to Ilesha Garage – N50
-Alakowe to Fajuyi/Sabo/Lagere  -  N60
-Alakowe to AP/Mayfair-  N70
-Alakowe to Campus/New Garage – N80
-Alakowe to Roundabout – N150
-Opa/Aba-Iya-Gani to Lagere – N50
-Opa to Roundabout – N120
-Sabo to Campus/New Garage – N60
-Lagere/AP/Mayfair to Campus and New Garage – N50
-Sabo/Lagere/AP/Mayfair to Roundabout – N80
-Mayfair to Fashina – N70
-A drop from one pole to another within town – N50

Olamide"Badoo" Live In Ile-ife

Olamide's Post On His Instagram Page


Following controversies that the popular music star, Adedeji Olamide, popularly known as Olamide Badoo, would be performing at the Amphitheatre, OAU, the Abule sowo crooner has taken to his instagram page to confirm his presence at the event. The event which is tagged; “Olamide Live In Ife” is said to hold in the Amphitheatre, OAU on Monday, 30th May, 2016 with Regular tickets selling for N500, VIP for N5000, Table for 4 for N35,000 and Table for 10 selling for N75,000.

However, most stale students have expressed their disappointments as they would not be able attend the show considering the fact that the stalites of the hosting institution are yet to resume.


NANCE Convention Kicks Off Today





The first ever Convention of the National Association of Nigerian Campus Editors would kick off today, 27th May, 2016 at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Association which was birthed in the year 2015 to further help foster quality Campus Journalism in Various campuses nationwide have been under the leadership of Olanrewaju Oyedeji, who has served as its acting Chairman since conception. However, one of the major programmes of the convention is its first general elections in which some Campus Journalists of the Obafemi Awolowo University are contesting.

A number of distinguished persons and veteran Journalists are also expected to be present at the convention; Mr Dele Momodu, Sam Omatseye, Governor Ahmed Abdul Fatai amongst others.

We hereby wish every person traveling mercy journey as all roads lead to Ilorin.


OAU Wins Yusuff Ali Moot And Mock Competition

The Faculty of Law of the  University of Ilorin was defeated by the Faculty of  Law of the Obafemi Awolowo University yesterday, Wednesday 25th of  may, in the finals of  the Yusuff  Alli Moot and Mock competition that held at the University of Ilorin

The Faculty of Law, OAU, were said to have dazed and dazzled the audience and other competing Universities by the forensic eloquence coupled with a top-notch knowledge of moot and mock trial displayed by Ehimosan Olukolade and Otuyiga Olasunkanmi of Team OAU during the mock trial.

Obafemi Awolowo University evicted Lagos State University at the moot which qualified them for the mock trial.

The climax of the mock trial was when the Judges stood up to give standing ovation for both counsels representing Obafemi Awolowo University while giving their final addresses.

Other students in team OAU are  Adeniyi Ayomiposi and Akindolire David who represented TeamOAU  in the debate and Tijani Taofeek and Agboola Elijah. 

When asked, one of the students that represented the Obafemi Awolowo University in the Moot and Mock trial, Otuyiga  ‘Sunkanmi, how he felt about team OAU’s feat and he had this to say;

“Hmm, I feel good! … It was my debut moot and also my first mock experience… Its  an awesome feeling to have won my first moot and mock competition”.

Manchester United Appoints Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has signed his contract to become the new manager of Manchester United.

The Portuguese left home at 2.50pm on Thursday and concluded talks at a central London hotel, agreeing to succeed Louis van Gaal as the new boss at Old Trafford.

Sky Sports News HQ broke the news at 5.20pm after Mourinho returned home half an hour earlier with documents in his hand and a bottle of red wine, having met with United's executive vice chairman Ed Woodward to complete the deal.
