Nigerian DJs Ban Terry G's Songs

Following the drama that ensued when the popular music act, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G slapped a disk jockey on stage for swapping his song for another artiste's song as a way of telling him to leave the podium. The Disciplinary Committee of the DeeJays Association of Nigeria (DJAN) is not taking the violent act lightly as the Association has released a circular to ban the songs of the Benue State born artiste.
However, the musician has taken to his Instagram page to apologise to DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Phreez and the entire DJAN for his behaviour, claiming in his words the without them, his music would be "...a total #nonesense"

Read the communique below:

On Sunday the 5th of June 2016 at the Muson Center, Lagos State, Nigeria, a music/comedy show held and Terry G was not among the artiste billed to perform, he begged the organizers until he was told to perform for seven minutes, but he got on stage already tipsy and after about 18 minutes on stage insulting everyone, the organizers asked the DJ to play a different song by another artist, no sooner had the song began to play that Terry G descended on the DJ who was the head DJ of Jatt Incorporated. Falz, Simi Others To Storm Ife This Weekend

Following the postponement of the Ife Fiesta, the organizers of the programme seem to have re-arranged and repackaged the Fiesta to give all VIPs and attendees the best of what Ile-Ife has to offer. Though the event was to hold during the Easter break, it had to be pushed forward to allow for more plans and a well organised concert.

The Fiesta is to enact the declaration of Ile-ife as a tourist zone by HRM Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II.

The event will be enjoying a lot of Media coverage and even a live broadcast ‎to Africa and the world. We are expecting 200 VVIPs and about 8,000 VIPS with about 30million people viewing from across the world.

We are opening up Ile-Ife to the world. It is for the world to know we have a King and a city in southwestern Nigeria that are open to massive partnerships from both Local Direct Investments and Foreign Direct Investments, and we are using tourism as a vehicle to make that happen". Ayo George concluded.

The event is slated to happen at Afewonro/Enuwa Square, Palace Of Ooni of Ife and Many Nigerian Celebrities are also expected to be present. Falz, Simi, 9ice, Lil Kesh and a whole lot of other Nigerian artistes are also expected to perform at the fiesta this weekend.

Tiwa-Teebillz Saga: Transcript Of Tiwa Savage's Interview With ThisDay Editor (Plus Video)

In an exclusive interview with Azuka Ogujiuba, ThisDay Editor, which was obtained exclusively by Pulse TV, Tiwa Savage addressed the allegations, and made emotional revelations about her husband.

Tiwa Savage has addressed the shocking accusations levelled against her by (ex) husband Tunji ‘Teebillz’ Balogun.

Yesterday, Teebillz had taken to social media to level allegations of infidelity, neglect and passive torture from Tiwa Savage in their marriage. He was later reported to have attempted suicide by jumping off the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge in Lagos.

The allegations brought on a lot of heat and discussions on social media, with many polarizing opinions being offered.

But in an exclusive interview with Azuka Ogujiuba, ThisDay Editor, which was obtained exclusively by Pulse TV, Tiwa Savage addressed the allegations, and made emotional revelations about her husband.

Read the edited quotes of her interview below.

When I woke up, I thought they found him dead. My first thought was that we need to find him, he is suicidal, and we need to make sure he is alive. I didn’t even know what he had said. Someone took my phone from me, they don’t want me to see what was said online. I was just sacred for his life.

At around 10 and 11, Banky W’s Mum and his family were praying, and we got the call that he was found in Lekki, and that he has been taken to Banky’s House.

For the past two months, TJ and I have not been together, it was something we were working through, but I knew this marriage would not work.

I haven’t spoke to TJ in about a week, and we were supposed to get some passports for my son. He was reading the messages and he wasn’t responding. I begged him to be friends, and let’s be good parents to Jamil. He didn’t respond.

I covered up for a lot of hurt in our relationship. Just before I went to Jamaica, I found out that I was pregnant. We were just trying to find out how we were going to manage another baby so soon. I got to London, on a 10-hour flight to shoot a video with Busy Signal (Reggae Artiste). While doing my makeup,  I found out I was bleeding and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital, and we were trying to call TJ to tell him what happened. While we were sleeping at two AM a number called him saved as Edible Catering….I checked his phone, and the number was asking him if she can come to his hotel. She responded that He (TJ) knocked her out last night, that he was a great night. I confronted him, and he said he took another woman to the hotel and said they were just chilling. This happened the period I was in Jamaica, and I was in the hospital. I sent TJ pictures, and he was busy with another woman. I was in a hospital and you couldn’t be bothered find out what happened to me. I packed my stuff, took my son and went to my friends house, her name is Tiwa also. I stayed the night, and she asked me for the next step, I told her I was done.

I covered up for so long because I wanted people to believe that TJ is the one that takes care of me, TJ is the head of the house…I wanted him to be the head of the house. I covered up so much.

TJ has not spent one Naira, I paid for hospital bills, his flight, his accommodation, we also went shopping for TJ so that he will have new things. His excuse was that Í don’t have money’. I had to pay for everything so that he can go out and hustle, and get the contracts. He didn’t have money for diapers, but he had money to have a bi-weekly haircut, had money to pay for his laundry, had money to take a woman to the hotel.

His cooking allegations is a lie. I am not going to say because of my career that I am not going to cook. I work long hours to put money in the house, I work to make sure that we have a roof over our house. I come back home really late, and when I make something for myself, I make some for TJ. I had to hire a cook to cook for me, him and the other people that live in the house, I don’t think that is wrong…Even if it is true, the things he puts me through will not even encourage me to ask him if he is hungry. He goes out and you come home at 7 in the morning, sometime 2pm. He comes back drunk, he comes back angry, and we don’t know what sort of mood he is in. Sometimes TJ will go out and he will not call, and he will not tell him. I am just sacred for his safety, I will be calling him frantically, to find out that he didn’t go and drink. I am even praying that he is with another woman, so that at least I know that he is alive. That’s not the person that I will ask if he has eaten.

When I sacked him as my manager – I will never discredit or take away that TJ worked hard, hustled and believed in me. But what I will say is that at one point….he is booking events and he will book shows. The first time I found out that there was foul play was when he booked me for a wedding in London. I have to be paid before I perform. I called one of the organisers, and said I have not been paid. He said that the show has been paid four months ago, he showed me the account were they paid him. TJ declared that the show was for 3M but they really paid 4.5M, out of the 3M he was still receiving the management fee 40%. He took money already, and collected his percentage, and he didn’t feel anything. He was stealing from his wife. I had to perform at the wedding for free. I do get to perform for free when he takes my money.

My mum is based in the UK, and when I had Jamil she moved back to Nigeria with us. My mother is not like that (witchcraft), she is a sweet lady, and she’s very British, she doesn’t judge, she is not hung up like that. A lot of times, my mom would say ‘Tiwa you are the wife, be patient, don’t curse don’t shout, build the home.’ She has been nothing but a great support for me. I would love for him to tell me if there is something my mother has done.

I have never cheated on my husband. Not with Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, 2face Idibia or anybody. I have never cheated on my husband, and Tunji knows this. He knows that in his heart. (She breaks down in tears) Sometimes in the studio, one of the things that Don Jazzy and some of my other label mates say is that I am really good with interviews, with being diplomatic and knowing how to carry myself with difficult situations. This hurts. I have seen comments of what people are saying about me. It is not true.

I know that for every human being when your father’s ways are not straight, it will bother you. Since I sacked him from my management, he has been struggling financially. He was stealing from me, so I had to save my marriage and separate business from family. TJ wants to keep up with the Joneses, he wants to live a life that is not true. He went to buy a car, a Mercedes that he knew that he didn’t have the money for it. The person kept up calling that he wants the balance. I ended up paying the balance of over 3M. When it was time to pay, I put the money in his account, so they don’t know I was the person paying for it. He also bought a Rolex, and didn’t pay the balance. They threaten to go to the press, and to protect my name, I will have to pay for it. He goes to clubs and leaves the tabs for me, and I have to pay for him. He is putting us in debt.

What set off all off this was that he went to borrow 45 million Naira from someone and he lost it. I just found out that EFCC was investigating a case against him, and my brother called me from London and confirmed it that TJ is in deep trouble, and that some people might hurt him, that I should be careful. In my frantic mode to try and suppress this situation I went to one of my big bros who can help. A week ago I told TJ that we were running out of Jamil’s food, but he didn’t do nothing. He complains, but cuts his hair twice a week. I have been searching for N45M so that they don’t kill him, so that they EFCC does not carry him. What kind of man does that, and says I am the one taking away his manhood.

I walked in on TJ taking cocaine in my house in 1004 (Victoria Island, Lagos). I didn’t even know he takes cocaine. I walked into the kitchen, and I saw him taking cocaine, so I screamed, and asked if that is cocaine. HE started screaming that ‘What am I doing down here, where is the cocaine?’ How can someone without money take cocaine? I called his parents and complained that I can deal with weed, but cocaine, no. So I am dealing with his alcohol problem, you come home late, infidelity, cocaine, bad debt, jealousy over my success.

Before marriage, I didn’t know of his third child in Nigeria. A lot of people warned me about him, but I am going to say I made a mistake. At the beginning everyone says you can’t leave the marriage because our culture frowns on it. I made a mistake, do I have to wait ten years, 15 years? If I am not happy. And I was scared that if I ever find somebody else to marry me? That’s the misconceptions of our society. I don’t care if I ever get married again. I care about being happy for Jamil, I care about not walking on eggshells. I do want a man that works, that will help me with my financial burden. He doesn’t have to be a millionaire or billionaire, but at least someone that helps, and won’t put me in more debt.

Everyday all I hear from TJ is that ‘I created you, I took you from nothing, look at you now.

The marriage is finally over, it’s been over for a while, and I have covered up for a while. What happened was God-sent, and he made it easier for me to walk away with what he did on social media. He got so many people angrier, he pulled so many innocent people into this. Even his family. He made it easy for me to finally up and walk away.

I will never stop hum from seeing Jamil, never. Even today, Jamil is still saying ‘dadada’, and I was saying it with him as well, that’s his first word. I want to bring him up to be a good man.

Even till now I don’t wish anything bad on him. As we are doing this interview, I am worried that if he sees it, it might trigger him to do something bad. I don’t want my son to grow up and know, God forbid, that his father committed suicide. Tonight, I am still gonna pray for him.

He was getting help at one point when the whole cocaine thing came out. This has been happening for a long time. We get him help and he goes to see a doctor or a pastor, or a counsellor and he uses his own hands to ruin things again. If I didn’t care about him, I wouldn’t be covering up for a lot of things. I wouldn’t be searching for help for him. Even now I am still searching for a way to help him out of his debt, so that if he is out of this,

If there is anything that maybe I overlooked, or didn’t love him enough, or made him less of a man, then I am sorry. I am absolutely sorry…Tunji I am sorry. But you know I tried everything, you know I love you so much, and I am sorry, I never wanted to divorce, and I never wanted it to get to this. I want you to get better…and I would always pray for you.

"I've Never Slept With A Man For Money" -Linda Ikeji

Famous Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji who recently acquired a property worth over N500 million got attacked by fans for being single.

The mighty mansion is located at Banana Island, Ikoyi.

Linda Ikeji wrote a long article aimed at young women.

Read the post below: –

“My name is Linda Ikeji. I’m a blogger. I’m 35 years old and I have never…never ever in my life slept with a man for money. Not only have I never done it, I have never even consider it…and here I am with a house that cost me over half a billion naira.

Listen, you are beautiful and you are stronger than you know. There’s absolutely nothing you can’t achieve if you set your mind to it, put her heart and soul into it. Up until five years ago, I was a struggling entrepreneur. I can’t tell you how many offices in this Lagos I sat in for hours waiting to see people who could support my business…but most times, I never passed the reception area. But I never gave up and I never stopped believing and here I am today.

You too can be this..you can be better than this. No dream is too big, no dream is too small, no mountain is too high…it’s all in your mind. It’s all up to you. If you believe in you, in your God who is guiding you, then the sky is your starting point.

Please stop waiting around for a man to give to you…to put food on your table and put clothes on your back. I promise you, you can do it for yourself. Start thinking big, believe in yourself, be creative and start working. Realize that your dreams are valid…and nobody will make your dreams come true except you. Find what you are good at. Find something that you are passionate about. Work hard at it. Be consistent. Be patient. Start young. Even if you’re not young, it’s never too late!

“I have been hustling since I left secondary school..started modeling before I entered university in 1998. Was running a modeling agency even while I was a student and made it a full time business after I left university. I never doubted that I would succeed one day, because I was determined. And please do not think this happened over night. I’ve been blogging since 2006…November this year will make it exactly 9 years. God, consistency and hard work brought me here today.

“Unfortunately, a lot of our young girls aren’t patient and some are lazy, they want it quick and fast but it doesn’t work like that. Success takes time – takes hard work – takes passion – takes consistency – but more than anything else, it takes the Grace of God.

I was a 30 year old broke woman and on my birthday, a very sad and depressed me turned to God and begged him. I told Him you promised me, when will You fulfill Your promise? Am I not Your child? Have I not lived according to Your teachings? When will You bless me? Please God help me…and with tears in my eyes, I begged Him. I cried and I begged and I begged and I begged. A few months later my life changed. Never underestimate God’s love for you and the power of prayer.

“And never stop working. Listen, I make enough money to hire so many people to work on this blog while I go do other things and enjoy myself…but I don’t do that. I’m up while some of you are sleeping, and already blogging before some of you wake up. I don’t take this for granted. I know to stay on top, I have to constantly work and nobody will be as dedicated as I am because this is not their own thing. It’s mine and I have to keep feeding it. So I’m constantly here!

Young ladies, I promise you…you too can do this. You don’t need to spread your legs for any bladdy man – because of how much? N200k? That’s how much my shoes cost – so why you should give up your body for that? Your sacred body? God’s temple? 200k that you can make in a week or even in a day if you pursue your dreams and still have your dignity intact? You think people don’t see that you’re messing around with all dem old married men and talking about it? Think ladies, think! When next a man propositions you…tell him to get lost, that you will get yours yourself! Abi, aren’t you a woman? You know what they say about women? “A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.”. You are so strong, you don’t even know!

Also, if you want God to bless you, you have to have a clean heart. All these backbiting, hating on others, trying to bring people down with hateful words, action etc – God doesn’t like ugly. He has over 6 billion people to look after and you think he will pay extra attention to you if your heart is ugly? Wish people well, help people when you can. Be good to others. But more than anything else be good to yourself. Believe in yourself. It’s very easy to give in to feelings of self-doubt and back down when things get tough, but you have to know that God will not give you anything you can’t handle.

I swear to you, you are underestimating yourself. If you know the power that you have inside. If you know the things that you are capable of. If you know how far you can go…how high you can reach but you are holding yourself back because you’re afraid of failing, because you don’t think you have it in you. If only you know that you’re stronger than you think. You are so powerful, you don’t even know it. I’m not more special than you are. I don’t have two heads. We serve the same God. Why can’t you succeed? Think ladies, think.

Like Barack Obama’s sister said, poverty is not an excuse! I used to sell/market beer at Sheraton hotel, Lagos when I was in university for N1,000 a day. I once lived on ‘puff puff’ and garri for weeks in UNILAG and I was supposedly a top model but nobody knew what I was going through. Trust me, I know poverty. Did you know I lived in Idi-oro, Mushin for 15 years? Up until when I was 25? Did you live in Mushin? Eh, so what’s your excuse? I can’t even say some things here for my family’s privacy but here I am today because I never doubted myself and I never allowed all the doubters to distract me. I was focused. I was determined. I worked hard and I knew the God I served won’t let me down. The road was long, sometimes very frustrating and painful but look at me now. God did it because he saw that I was willing!

“Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed. If I fail, no one will say, “She doesn’t have what it takes.” They will say, “Women don’t have what it takes.”

Please believe in yourself and watch God use you to set as an example for others.

May all your dreams come true!

Kisses.”

B Sharp Drops New Single Titled 'Your Grace'

We featured B Sharp on our platform here sometimes in May where he told us about his new song he was yet to release then. (Read the interview here). Bsharp is a student of Obafemi Awolowo University and an upcoming artiste.

'Your Grace' is finally out and I can bet you, it is no way below expectation... I have listened to it and wow!!!... it is cool and the lines are awesome!

Excerpt:
'Life's like a race in a maze,
God's grace gives us pace to win the race.
Though the days might get dark and be filled with haze,
God's grace will shine like rays to lighten our ways.'

Those lines are original but get more lines from B Sharp's Poetic Worship titled YOUR GRACE. He practically exhausted every word that rhymes with Grace.

OAU Student's Union Official Press Release On Adekunle Gold

OAU Student's Union Official Press Release On Adekunle Gold
 http://emsincorporated.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/How-to-write-a-press-release-2.jpg
This is the official press release from the office of the Social director.

Revolutionary greetings to my fellow Nigerians. Without wasting too much time on pleasantries, I will love to cut to the chase and set the record straight. Wale Applause, a social media publicist and a former Social director of OAU student union was the one who connected me with the Adekunle Gold’s manager. Wale Applause demanded 300 thousand naira as the fee to get Adekunle Gold to perform. As you would expect, there were negotiations but at the end of the day, Wale Applause did not shift ground as he was bent on collecting the 300 thousand naira. I had to agree. I gave them 250 thousand naira and promised to pay the remaining 50 thousand after the performance but on getting to Ilorin to pick up Adekunle Gold, I was made to pay the remaining 50 thousand before he agreed to come back to Ife with me. In the bus conveying us back to Ife, I asked him which song he will be doing and he said he will be doing ‘Sade’. So I told him he cant just do that only song and leave the stage, that OAU students will want more.
I suggested to him that he should find a way to entertain the audience for at least 20 minutes and he assured me he would. He said and i quote “I know how to handle my audience”. This put my mind at rest and I enjoyed the rest of my journey back to Ife as I looked forward to a great night with Adekunle Gold. We got to Ife and we lodged him in a hotel and I started putting the final preparations together. Around 9pm, when the show started, I got a call from his manager demanding that Adekunle Gold must perform immediately as he has another event the following day. I was not told all this before I paid for his services and I definitely cant let him perform at the beginning of the show when he is supposed to be the main act and the main act as we all know should end the show, not start it. I kept him at the backstage, provided adequate welfare, he interacted with the media outfits around, we all laughed and enjoyed from the backstage.
Four hours later, around 1am, it was his time to entertain his fans who had waited all night for him. As he was about to go on stage, I reminded him of the importance of making sure he finds a way to entertain the students for atleast 20 minutes and he said I should not worry. To my surprise, Adekunle Gold went on stage and did his only song ‘sade’ and spent exactly 3 minutes and 42 seconds. The audience, as expected got really angry and we had a mob coming towards the stage. We quickly took him away from the scene, found our way to the student union building, the mob running after us. The students demanded more for the 300 thousand naira! Fortunately, we were able to get him to his hotel room unharmed. The next morning, the students came to the Union building to make demands. They insisted that Adekunle Gold must refund atleast half of the money.
The Union president then appointed some persons to follow me to the hotel to make those demands. We got there and conveyed the message to his manager. I called Wale Applause and he said I should talk to the manager and reach a compromise. The manager agreed that his artiste was wrong to breach the agreement he had with me and that they would refund half of the the money. Chinko Ekun, a student of OAU and a YBNL artiste was there when this conversation was ongoing and he even went to the ATM with Adekunle Gold’s manager to get the money. There was no argument whatsoever, it was a peaceful and straight forward negotiation with the manager. Adekunle Gold did not even come out of his room until after negotiations were over. I made preparations for his transport but he declined. I am still trying to understand how exactly we robbed him? Wale Applause then called after he found out I was going to collect half of the money. He said he will make sure i regret this. He also said he controls all the artistes in the industry and he will make sure none of them ever comes to OAU in the future. He promised to damage my name and also the name of the school.

Wale Applause is a very well respected alumnus of this great university which is we are very dissapointed with his actions. Wale Applause is a wounded lion who has refused to let go of the past. He brought Durella to OAU when he was the Social director but the show flopped because Durella refused to respect the traditions of Great OAU students. His fans felt insulted and did not allow him perform and the show was brought to an end abruptly. Wale Applause obviously still feels he has a score to settle with the school management.
The school management suspended the Student union during his tenure. With all due respect to Mr Wale Applause, he has to tender an unreserved apology to great Ife students as his actions have been erratic and devoid of the calmness and intelligence one would expect from an alumnus. I am also very disappointed in the media outfits who have been accusing OAU students of robbery without even asking for our own side of the story. It is very alarming the level of mediocrity in our journalism today. It is most painful that some TV stations have also been so unprofessional with the way they have portrayed this situation to the general public. We are powerfully and seriously considering legal actions.

"Great Ife Is Every Music Artiste’s Nightmare" -Olisa.tv

"Great Ife Is Every Music Artiste’s Nightmare" -Olisa.tv

The Social image of the Obafemi Awolowo University has probably lost some points in the Nigerian music industry following the latest performance of the YBNL 'Sade' Crooner, Adekunle Gold, at the OAU Invasion which was held on Friday, 12th June 2015.

Adekunle Gold was the most anticipated performer of the night and some of the students were disappointed following his very brief performance. The disappointed students claimed that they did not enjoy the value of the money paid for tickets as his performance was too brief and some even related the incident to Kim Kardashian and the Darey's Love like a movie show in 2013.

However, Event Promoter; Wale Applause, took to his twitter account to further claim that the DOS of the Students Union and some "Awo boys" went back to collect part of the money already paid to Adekunle Gold and blogs like radar.ng and olisa.tv have already started drawing inferences from this twitter release.

The Leadership of the Union have not released any  official statement concerning the incident but a relieving fact is that Adekunle is not the first musical artiste to perform in OAU. In fact over the last two years artistes like Wizkid Oritshe Femi, Wande Coal, Burna Boy, Harrysong, Reminisce, Sean tizzle and even the indigenous Chinko Ekun  to mention a few have performed in OAU without making negative headlines and so it is perhaps a misunderstanding of some sort.
We however hope that the parties involved (Office of the DOS and Adekunle) can come out to clear the air, sort their differences and move forward and the music industry does not get the wrong impression of OAU. It would also be imperative at this  juncture to admonish the Great Ife Students not to be so alutaristic especially when they are supposed to be having fun.
P.S- Falz the BAHD guy was also in Ife yesterday at a different show.
