This is to inform the aspirants of the Obafemi Awolowo University that the merit list for the 2018/2019 admissions has been released.
We therefore urge candidates to follow the procedure below to check their admission status
1. Visit jamb.org.ng/efacility preferably using a PC or chrome browser on mobile.
2. Login with the credentials( email and password) you created your jamb account with.
3. After successfully logging in, click on the options button ( the button with 3 dash) at the top of the page.
4. You'll see CAPS under the tag 'Admissions'. Click on it and you'll be taken to the CAPS page.
5. If the page only shows 'welcome', do not be discouraged. Just click on options on your mobile's browser and change the view of the page to 'desktop view'. This is why it's preferably to use a PC.
6. You'll see some options listed at the left-hand side. Click on 'Admission Status'.
7. It'll then bring your details.
If you've been admitted, you can either 'Accept admission' or 'Reject admission'.
If you are yet to be admitted, you will see : "admission in progress, check back later" under the tag 'Admission Status'. In this case, you won't be able to click on the 'Accept admission' or 'Reject admission' button.
As at the time of filing this report,there are some candidates who made the merit cut off mark and are yet to see their names on the admission list. We urge this category of Candidates to be patient and keep checking JAMB website as uploading is on going.

DeleteActually, we cannot categorically tell those departments that are pending. But like we mentioned earlier, if you meet up with the admission cut-off mark for the Department of Geography, be assured of admission.

DeleteWe understand that it is not mandatory for pre-degree students to take the Post-UTME before they are considered for admission. Rest assured, if you meet the cut-off mark for admission via the pre-degree programme, you will surely be admitted. Be Patient.

ReplyDeleteIt is unfortunate that no one is even responding to comment here, and I think OAU peeps is not doing fine enough on that aspect. This is not in tandem with the relief you people are given to the populace concerning the I formation they required. I may be wrong but that was my observation.

DeleteI have two students that are supposed to see their name having got more than the cut off marks in their respective choice but are yet to see it, 1 scored 83 and was to study Engineering physics, 2 scored 69 and was to study Chemical engineering. None of them had seen anything. In fact the one that scored 83 was still displaying "not admitted" while d other one shows "admission in progress"

DeleteWith comments and information we heard about if being one of the most organised school when it comes to admission, I am not convinced at all, my reason is that an exercise that had took them this long time the admission is been done in piece meal. I think all students admitted should be able to see their admission in same time to stop given them anxiety.

I don't think it is a matter of you sabi jare, my comment was just an advise to the institution, it might go beyond ur actions but your blog been a mouth piece can as well advise and hammered on it. The PUTME was taken in August if am correct by now I think the admissions doesnt have to be coming in one after the other. Nothing stopped the institution from uploading all at once and release a press statement on a date to start checking it on the portal. So don't misconstrued my concept.

ReplyDeleteHello sir, we have multiple reports from candidates of this particular department and we believe it's not a problem peculiar to your son. Those who have been admitted there are those who did not even choice it from the start.

ReplyDeleteI am DE candidate aspiring for Bsc in Accounting, I graduated from The Polytechnic, Ibadan with CGPA of 4.14. The admission processes has started and people have started seeing changes on their JAMB CAPS site, but up till today I'm seeing "Not Admitted" on my CAPS status. The question now is could it mean I don't stand a chance or what could have gone wrong; as people who have lesser CGPA compare to mine has been considered for Admission.

Just be prayerful, and be optimistic bro. It's not about the CGPA, though it gives an upper hand, but not really a direct entrance, being "Direct Entry" doesn't make it a "Direct Entrance" in the right sense, most times, it's all about favor, and divine interventions, especially with the tremendous reduction in the rate of Direct Entry student across all schools in the country.
ReplyDeleteDirect Entry are always very strict, sometimes also it's based on connections and the number of people chosen are always very few, don't think because you've a strong upper credit, it's as simple as that, especially from a difficult polytechnic, like Ibadan. A brother had 4.31 from Public Admin Dept. The Polytechnic, Ibadan. Before he was considered for admission last year, he nearly forfeited all hopes.
Just be hopeful bro.
