UJCM Begins Missions Week

By Durodola Abiola

It was a glorious Sunday on the 8th November, 2015 as Christians in Obafemi Awolowo University gathered together at the Afrika Amphi Theater in the institution to observe the first University Joint Christian Mission (UJCM) joint service for the rain semester and the beginning of UJCM Missions Week.

Just after the worship and praise session, the choristers delivered their special number which preceded the sermon of the day. Pastor Babatunde, the president of Anglican Students Fellowship (ASF) took to the pulpit to preach the sermon which he titled 'ME AND MY SALVATION'.

In his sermon, he admonished Christians to live a life of truthfulness wherever they go or in any position they find themselves. he further stated that salvation is available to all and sundry; both the rich, the poor, young and old irrespective of the tribe and religion. "And in conclusion, We must learn to forgive everyone that sinned against us", he said.

The service eventually brought to a close after the announcement and collection of offering by the C.O.P coordinator Pastor Muyiwa Akindeinde. The UJCM missions week continues tomorrow as Prayer Meeting will hold at Main Bowl, the programme is a week long event and the thanks giving service will hold on Sunday, 15th November 2015. A new set of the UJCM leadership is expected to be announced the thanksgiving service next week.
