By Adigun Paul

The Northern Students' Forum, Obafemi Awolowo University chapter is back again after about three (3) years of its dormancy. This was disclosed at a Press briefing in the institution on Saturday.

While speaking to the press at the LLT 2, the conveners of the forum, Mr Yakubu Hassan John and Mr Bello Abubakar said their motive is to unite the indigenous students of the 19 states of the Northern Nigeria. They however made it known that the forum had been registered with the Division of Student Affairs (DSA), OAU in the year 2011 but went offline since then due to the negligence on the part of the past leaders of the Group.

The conveners also made it known that elections into various offices in the Forum will be conducted this semester for proper running of it. The envisaged leadership are expected to work to ensure the nexus between the forum and the state governments of member states, so as to assist their members with grants, scholarships, amongst many other benefits.

The Forum has also announced the Chancellor of the University and Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abdul-Mumim Kabir Usman as its grand Patron.
