Maiden Edition Of The Opportunity Conference Held On OAU Campus

Babatunde Olatunji, a renowned visual artist whose works have been exhibited both nationally and internationally, especially his tribal mark painting emphasized the harmful effect of excuses while expatiating on the topic "Beyond Gifted Hands", at the Opportunity Conference held at the Ajose Lecture theatre, Obafemi Awolowo University on the 14th October 2017, he reiterated that to achieve one's dream, there must be a purpose and to make the purpose a reality, focus was the theme.
Emmanuel Adegboye, a graduate of the department of Engineering Physics also spoke to the audience on the need to maximize the social media in this generation. He further encouraged participants of the Conference to take advantage of learning opportunities online.


Also, Mr James Madueke, the principal of Standard Chartered Bank added that the youth should create value by developing a scheme to manage their Asset, Liability, Income, Expense and Budgeting with the involvement of investment. While answering an excuse on students low capital he said and I quote "it's not about the amount because you are still youth but the discipline and consistency"
In an interaction with Olayinka Olaseni, a 400L student of the Department of Foreign Languages and one of the organizers of the event, our correspondent was able to gather that the conference which was the first of its kind started from a the drive of giving back to the society. According to Olayinka, the organizers might just not be done with the OAU community yet.
