Adediran Ifeoluwa Emerges As First Female NUCJ Senate President

Adediran At First Plenary Session

The first ever convention of the of Nigerian Union of Campus Journalists was held at the premier university; the University of Ibadan on the 29th April 2017.

The election, which took place at the convention, was held in the Senate Complex of the Student Union building of the University of Ibadan, and Adediran Ifeoluwa, a 400L student of the Obafemi Awolowo University defeated her opponents with a clear cut margin to emerge as the first female Senate president of the Association.

In an interaction with her, the final year student of the Department of English said in exhilaration, "I will try all my maximum best in breaking the barrier that people have for female being at the apex. "

Miss Ifeoluwa also promised to help reform Nigerian Union of Campus Journalists​ to its becoming a great training ground.


In other categories, Alawode Ibrahim, a student of University of Ibadan emerged as the president of the Nigerian Union of Campus Journalists​.

Ibrahim who went unopposed when speaking with our correspondent stated that he would always be committed to the service to humanity, as demonstrated by him when he was an Executive of the NUJ arm of his institution.

Ahmad Obanoyen- Publicity Secretary
Azeez Abass- Financial Secretary
Folarin Kolawole- Southwest Zonal Secretary
Muhammad Akinyemi- North Central Zonal Secretary
Ifegwu Victor -South East Zonal Secretary.
