We Are Not Planning To Go On Strike -ASUU

What may be coming to many as a breathe of solace is finally here as we can confirm to you without any shadow of doubt that the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU) will not be going on strike any time soon.

In an exclusive chat with one of the top members of the Union who pleaded anonymity earlier today disclaimed the rumour of his members planning to embark on any strike. He argued that they cannot go on strike for now and if the need be for it, the Federal Government will be issued a notice which will be made public. In his words, ''ASUU cannot go on strike for now, we are also reasonable individuals and we will not do anything to jeopardize the education system. If peradventure we want to go on strike, we will notify the FG early enough and engage them through pre-strike measures first''. He further explained that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics(ASUP) and College of Education Academic Staff Union(COEASU) have just called off their strikes to give the new Minister of Education time to intervene in their respective matters, so they quite understand this.

However, the ASUU top member refused to make any comment on the state of implementation of the agreement between the Federal Government and the members of his Union owning to the reason of non-authorization. The rumour of the likelihood of ASUU resuming their went viral on social media some days ago without any confirmed source.
